New York City

Way back in November/December 2014, my best girlfriend had the great idea to give our other girlfriend a gift card to use to get herself from Virginia to NYC and we would meet her there. She had had a pretty tough year and we had been having a tough time being so far away from her. Solution? Girls Weekend in New York City¬†was born. Our friend in Virginia is still finishing up grad school so we had to wait to see what her spring semester schedule would be like, then we all realized hey Memorial Day weekend means an extra day without having to take any vacation days. So we spent the next almost 6 months counting down days to our weekend away. Finally it was here and we had an amazing time! We’ve now decided that Memorial Day weekend will now be known as Girls Weekend and are looking forward to many getaways in the future at the end of May!

It was a hectic whirlwind of a trip and our list of must-see places would take months to see, but we were pretty happy with what we were able to see and experience in a too short weekend.

Day 1/Friday night: Got off the plane and spent the evening catching up till the wee hours of the morning

Day 2: Busy day filled with The Met, Central Park, 30 Rock, Times Square and Broadway

Day 3: Staten Island Ferry, 9/11 Memorial, Brooklyn Bridge, and Grand Central Station with some generic wandering around thrown in

Day 4: Central Park, Ippudo, and MOMA
